Mrs. Harbaugh
Mrs. Harbaugh's class
Welcome to MHS third grade! We are excited about this coming year, although it will look different from previous years. We will still learn together and grow together! Be sure to stay up to date on everything by checking this page as well as our ClassTag page (information to sign up will come out as school begins).
Mrs. Thomas and I will jointly teach ELA/Science and Social Studies between the 3 classes. Be sure to check out BOTH our pages for information you need. Mrs. Thomas will post the spelling lists for everyone on her page each week.
Below I have linked some fun music videos about our astronomy unit, but we won't dive into that topic until nearly February.

Animal Classification
This is our current topic. Students are learning about the 5 groups of vertebrates and how scientists classify animals into different categories based on specific characteristics. At the end of the unit students will write, on their own, a paper about one of the five groups that we have studied. Each student should be taking notes in their workbooks using their field journal pages as well as the graphic organizers. In addition, students will be putting notes inside their notebooks. All of this will be used to help him/her write their paper. It is very important for students to stay up to date on the work or it becomes overwhelming!
